I found this Japanese lacquer ware in the Monocle magazine. I quite like it because it's simple and looks very homely and warm in comparison to the stainless steel items in the kitchens now. I also like it because of it's natural look and it's nice to see products pulling back away from the plastic aesthetic and moving into a more environmentally friendly and sustainable material.The lacquer ware is made with a traditional method of yamanaka-shikki which is very simple and is mostly constructed on a lathe. It is the simplicity that makes this product so beautiful and the detailing lies within the material as well as the finish.
